CASE STUDY: ARMAH Switchgear
ARMAH Switchgear achieves continued certification to ISO 45001 with Compliant.
Why ARMAH Switchgear decided to invest in ISO 45001
ARMAH Switchgear partnered with Compliant in 2021 to achieve UKAS accredited ISO 45001 certification. The North East based business has over 30 years of experience, designing, manufacturing and installing L.V. Switchgear, nationwide.
At the request of a client to support an ongoing relationship, ARMAH Switchgear’s Managing Director approached Mark for support to implement ISO. The company successfully achieved ISO 45001 in June 2021.
Due to the rise in demand from businesses for suppliers to work to ISO standards, many businesses are engaging many businesses are engaging consultants such as Compliant to support the ISO certification process and help with tender submissions and entry onto supplier frameworks.
The Process
We caught up with ARMAH Switchgear’s Quality Management System lead, Paul Croft to hear his thoughts on the process and continued certification.
Paul explained that he manages the QMS at ARMAH Switchgear including Achilles, Safe Contractor, Constructionline, Avetta and ISO 45001. He highlighted that having a certification consultant in place has enabled them to streamline processes and implement a framework that meets all of the criteria set out by the ISO 45001 standard.
Having the UKAS accredited certification means that ARMAH Switchgear’s certification is recognised globally and has put the business in a great position competitively.
The Outcome
When asked about the experience with Compliant Paul highlighted that “There were only 2 findings during our surveillance audit which meant continued certification for the business. The auditor was thorough, and we had Mark on hand to help with our site visit day and remote support from Compliant’s Internal Audit Manager Danielle Barry which was great.
We were delighted with the support and pleased that we have managed to continue with certification without any major findings.
Having Compliant in place takes the stress out of the process and enables us to get on with our day job while the auditor carries out their activities.”
Compliant Director Mark Henderson commented “It is great to see clients that we have been working with for over a year embedding our system into their business operations and reaping the rewards from their hard work. We were thrilled that ARMAH Switchgear achieved continued certification and can continue to add to their management system going forward. Well done everyone and best of luck for 2023.”
